On May 25, 2006, the Board of Directors adopted the Operational Best Practices framework. This framework serves as the foundation for the development of templates and products that members may implement in their cities. Operational Best Practices and their related template policies are the result of End Statement 2, which states:
"As a result of our efforts, there is a realization of financial benefit to the membership based on adherence to best practice risk management standards through an equitable sharing of risk and financing."
Each template is intentionally broad to meet a majority of operational structures. Before adopting any policy, it is imperative that the content is carefully reviewed to ensure it appropriately addresses your entity's operations.
Members are encouraged to use their Safety & Loss Control Grant to help implement and manage these policies and programs.
